What if someone just wanted to donate to the cause without yet committing to a membership? Is it possible just to donate $50, $150, $300 to help get off the ground?

I think the dojo is a great idea and would love to be involved, but I live and work in San Francisco, so I don't see myself making it down there much. Maybe just once or twice a month. I am curious what the current thinking is about a more lightweight membership option.

@otaviogood: We have a $10/day suggested donation for people that will be sporadically using the space.

I just ran across this and am totally stoked!!! I know of NYC Resistor and Noisebridge, etc.. but didn't realize a group and space were being created in other parts of the bay area. I was wondering though, I'm obviously to late for the founding membership but is it still possible to sign up at this point for a regular membership through paypal? Or should we wait?

@Binaryfever: Please do still sign up. As soon as we get our zoning docs approved, we'll be signing the lease and opening our doors. If you haven't already, sign up for the google group as well http://groups.google.com/group/hackerdojo so that you can know the most recent details and weigh in wherever you feel appropriate.

Is the "Founding Member" pool still open (since the doors haven't opened, and the "Agreement" is still a live link)?

I would love to have one of those early adopters slots. I live in Mountain View, and could come often, but I can't swing the $100/mo.
I would like to come over ASAP for a visit. When can I drop in?

I'd like to find out information about how to arrange an event at Hacker Dojo. Is there someone I can call to get rental rates and availability of meeting rooms?

I got a HP4050 Lserprinter in mint condition (the machine has barely printed 1000 pages in its life and the toner cartridge is 90% full) and network card for it. You could use it as community printer (it has a built in print server). It also has a standard printer port. If you want it i will bring it over.

Any plans to open branches in other cities? Those of us in So Cal who would love to be a part of a community like this are kinda hosed.

A suggested donation of $10/day provides admission into a class?

Hi KaeJae,
$10.00 a day provides you with access to our facilities for that day, it doesn't make you a member of the Dojo. Whether you can take the class being held that day will depend on the instructor. Some will be fine with a non-member ($10.00 a day participant) joining the class others may not. Please contact whomever is teaching the class you are interested in, most likely they'll say no problem, but the $10.00 doesn't guarantee access to any classes being held.
If you have any other questions please feel free to ask!
